Coeus International School

WASHINGTON, D.C. - The American Hellenic Educational Progressive Association (AHEPA), the leading association for the nation’s 1.3 million American citizens of Greek ancestry, and Philhellenes, and Coeus International School (CIS), a premier K-12 International Baccalaureate (IB) Candidate School, have formed a unique partnership to promote and preserve Hellenic Culture and language in school.

“AHEPA and CIS are proud to announce the Koios Scholarship Fund,” said AHEPA International President Ike Gulas. “As AHEPA continues to work hard to advance its mission, this opportunity will give all interested students the ability to learn about Hellenism and its contributions around the world,” added Gulas.

CIS offers unique dual-language immersion programs in English and the choice of Greek, Arabic, French, Mandarin or Spanish for students in kindergarten through twelfth grade. The school’s curriculum is inquiry-based and trans-disciplinary. As an IB Candidate School, CIS also offers innovative programs such as Olympism based athletics and peace studies.

“This scholarship fund, via AHEPA, will help with the Promotion of Greek Language and Culture throughout the Washington, DC metropolitan area,” said Assistant Head of School Christopher Dubia.  “Here at Coeus we are conscious of the impact of Greek thought and culture on western civilization,” added Dubia.

In addition to the scholarship fund and financial aid opportunities, CIS offers AHEPA members a discount on the standard tuition rate.
