AHEPA Deeply Saddened over the Death of George T. Pantazelos

An Ahepan and Friend to us All

 George Pantazelos

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Ike Gulas, national president of the American Hellenic Educational Progressive Association (AHEPA), the leading association for the nation’s 1.3 million Americans of Hellenic heritage, and Philhellenes, issued the following statement about the passing of Brother George Pantazelos:

“The tragic news of Brother Pantazelos’s death has left us all speechless. Just four months ago, he was elected to the Supreme Lodge and we began planning ways to continue AHEPA’s successes and accomplishments, across the country and abroad. His involvement and crucial role in District 13, will leave us with a positive reminder of how Brother Pantazelos lived his life, always thinking of ways to improve AHEPA and its image. Brother George is an Ahepan we should all emulate and never forget.”

Funeral arrangements are still pending at this time.

AHEPA was established in 1922, by visionary Greek-Americans to protect all from prejudice originating from the KKK, and in its history, AHEPA has joined with the NAACP and B’nai B’rith International to fight discrimination. The mission of the AHEPA family is to promote the ideals of Hellenism, education, philanthropy, civic responsibility and family and individual excellence.  For more information about AHEPA, or how to join, please contact AHEPA Headquarters, 202.232.6300, or visit www.ahepa.org.
