Supreme President Ike Gulas led the AHEPA delegation to the White House. Joining the Supreme President was Supreme Vice President Nick Karacostas, Chairman of the AHEPA Trustees Tom Owens, Grand President of the Daughters Karen Stamatiades, Sons of Pericles Supreme President Rick Pecka, and Grand President of the Maids of Athena Stephanie Maniatis. Many Greek American organizations were also in attendance. President Bush issued the traditional Greek American Proclamation noting the years of joint cooperation between Greece and the United States. After a brief concert which highlighted the New York Metropolitan Church chorus, the President of the United States, George W. Bush, invited the guests to a reception in the West Dining Room.  (l-r) Chairman of the AHEPA Trustees Tom Owens, Grand President of the Maids of Athena Stephanie Maniatis, Supreme President Ike Gulas, and Grand President of the Daughters Karen Stamatiades The Supreme President began the events Monday night with a dedication at the State house of Maryland in Annapolis, where Brother Steve Mavronis together with members of the district 3 brothers coordinated and hosted a kick off event. The Supreme President represented the AHEPA and spoke about the value of the relationship we share with Greece. In preparation of the 2008 AHEPA Supreme Convention in Athens, comments revolved around the convention and the strong bond we share with Greece.  Members of the Maryland House of Delegates, Karolos Gadis of the Greek Embassy, with Mayor of Baltimore and Supreme President Ike Gulas AHEPA continues to promote those things we hold true and salute Greece for 187 years of freedom.
