It is a pleasure to present the 2010 AHEPA Congressional Scorecard on Greek-American Issues for the 111th Congress of the United States.
The scorecard is based on legislative initiatives and positions taken during the 111th Congress only. The Overall Evaluation of each member of Congress was determined by actions taken by them by September 29, 2010.
While we understand that much of the business of politics happens "behind the scenes," we have made our evaluation based upon what is on the record according to the THOMAS Web site, http://thomas.loc.gov.
We encourage you to use the information presented in the scorecard to make informed decisions especially if Greek-American issues are at the forefront of your concern. Also, we encourage you to contact your elected representatives to ask them about their positions on these issues. Inquire why they did not co-sponsor a bill or sign a position letter. Finally, it is always helpful to thank and congratulate our representatives if they are supportive of the issues. For this purpose, the scorecard also contains the contact information of each member of Congress.
