An important component of the mission of AHEPA is "family and individual excellence". This ideal is exemplified in athletic competition which is why AHEPA offers a premier Athletic Program to the Greek American community.
The National Athletic Department, which was headed by Dr. Monthe N. Kofos, Supreme Athletic Director, for 40 years until his passing in September, 2008, organized a wide range of regional & national sporting events under the direction of capable and energetic National & Regional Sport Directors.
UPDATE: The 2011 Athletic Scholarships Application form is now available online: Atheltic Awards Application Form - 2011. The deadline for submitting applications is May 1, 2011, so please download, complete and submit your application as soon as possible.

One of the greatest accomplishments of the National Athletic Department is the establishment of the AHEPA Hellenic Hall of Fame. This Hall encompasses players, coaches, and sports personalities as far back as the early 20th century. Since its inception in 1975, 114 individuals have been inducted.

Moreover, the National Athletic Department administers its Awards Program which honors amatuer and professional athletes for excellence in sports. Student-athletes are also spotlighted and honored yearly at the Supreme AHEPA Conventions.
