Biography
Ike Gulas was born a second generation Greek American in Birmingham, Alabama. The Gulas family has been in Birmingham for more than 100 years. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Public Administration from Samford University in 1985. While a student at Samford he participated in intercollegiate baseball and was selected to Who's Who Among Students in American Colleges and Universities. He then attended the Cumberland School of Law at Samford University, receiving his Juris Doctor degree in 1989. In law school he distinguished himself by being elected National Student Bar Association President of the American Bar Association Law Student Division. He was admitted to the Alabama State Bar in 1990.
Ike is the senior partner and president of Gulas and Stuckey, P.C. which he founded in 1998. During his career he has established himself in the practice of law both regionally and nationally in the areas of class action and mass tort litigation. He is a member of the Birmingham Bar Association, the American Bar Association, the Southern Trial Lawyer Association, the Alabama Trial Lawyers Association and the American Association for Justice where he served on the Public Affairs Committee. He has lectured throughout the United States and appeared on television and radio programs regarding various legal topics and cases.
He has been a member of the AHEPA for more than 20 years and is the third youngest National President in its 85 year history. He has served in various elected offices and on numerous committees during his AHEPA career. He served as Chairman of the AHEPA Cooley's Anemia Foundation. He is President of the Board of Directors of AHEPA 3, Inc., a 501c3 corporation responsible for the development of HUD financed senior citizen apartments. He served on the AHEPA National Board of Directors.
He is a member of Holy Trinity Holy Cross Greek Orthodox Cathedral in Birmingham, Alabama where he has served on its Parish Council. He is a member of Leadership 100 of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of the United States and the Diakonia Deca in the Atlanta Metropolis. He is married to the former Frances Manuel of Norfolk, Virginia. They have two children, Alex age 9 and Eleni age 6.
