AHEPA is launching its most aggressive effort to ensure the Greek-American Community is engaged in Election '08.  This sounds overwhelming, but it really comes down to 4 easy steps --  and it begins with YOU!

  1. Register to Vote
  2.  Register Others to Vote
  3. Know Where the Candidates Stand

1. Register to Vote

It’s easy online through the following two non-partisan sites. Here are direct links to register!

Or if you prefer, download the national voter registration form.  Included are state-specific  instructions for voter registration.  As not all states have the same regulations, please make sure you read your state's section and follow the rules for voter registration.

2. Register Others to Vote

The Greek American vote is only politically important to candidates if our community is registered to vote.  Check with your local AHEPA Chapter to connect with their efforts, or simply download the national voter registration form, and make sure you comply with your state’s voter registration laws.  Voter registration is a non-partisan activity and can be conducted in the following places:

  • Church Halls
  • Greek-American Festivals
  • Any Public Land without permission
  • Private lands (like shopping centers) with permission from owners.

3. Know Where the Candidates Stand

AHEPA is working hard to ensure you know where your members of Congress and the Presidential Candidates stand on issues of importance to the Greek-American community.  We’ve compiled our Congressional Scorecard for the 110th Congress and have sent our Presidential Questionnaire out to each of the Presidential candidates.  Get informed ... Get Involved!

4. VOTE on November 4!

Democracy is one of the greatest gifts our Greek Heritage has contributed to our great nation.  It is the cornerstone of what makes America great, and only possible when we all exercise our right to vote.   So on November 4, please get to the polls, make sure everyone in our community gets to the polls, and make sure the Greek-American vote counts in this election!
